We had no opportunity to swim from a Tongan beach, but the kids seemed to be enjoying the beautiful waters. The beaches were generally coral or rocks.

Visitors can enjoy a native meal and see authentic craft demonstrations at the beautiful Tongan cultural center. Here a woman uses natural paint and large seed to decorate a huge tapa. It was made by joining pounded strips of mulberry bark.

The Trilithon in Tonga was the most interesting historic ruin on our trip. Was it the entrance to a city, or an ancient astronomical indicator?
